Proton Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) 2010

I am never a fan of racing cars, nor cars even. I have never quite enjoyed talking about it with boys and girls of all ages. You can count a toddler in. I am always ashamed of my lack of knowledge in cars and their horsepower that i had to interrupt their intense conversation with the constant pouring of stupid questions with obvious answers. Imagine a scene of a clueless girl in between avid fans of International Racing teams, asking a question about the placement of cameras in race cars or the taping of cars as they race. You'll have an ending with an awkward silence and grasshoppers mating.

Anyway, back to the point. So you see, i am not fond of cars. But i do know the car that served my mother for a pretty long time. Half a decade if i were to count with my fingers. But definitely more than that if you count in with months.

This brand of car is a proud production of our country and it has brought attention to other countries as well. I With it's highest addition to the fame that is accumulated within the years, our very own Proton team is rejoicing as they emerged as winner of Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) that was recently held in China.

"All the major APRC teams at 2010 China Rally left the event with a result, MRF tyres win the APRC drivers championship, Cusco the Asia Cup and Proton has got a 1-2 podium."

Both Proton drivers, Alister McRae and Chris Atkinson, came through the ending line consecutively made Malaysia more proud than ever. Not to mention, they are absolutely cuter than Michael Schumacker.

“We are elated with this victory and it reaffirms the Satria Neo S2000 and PROTON’s competitiveness as a manufacturer on the international rally arena. Considering we had declared from the very beginning of the season that this year would be one that is devoted to testing and development, coming second in the APRC Manufacturer’s Championship is certainly a cause for celebration,” said PROTON Holdings Berhad Group Managing Director Dato’ Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.

I bet you must be wondering how a small and compact car of a Satria would win a race. Seriously, i am going to persuade my mother to buying me a Satria Neo now in spite of all other foreign cars. I'm gonna wear a one-piece suit and wear some geeky specs and get my mother to find a whiteboard so i can tell her about

PROTON, established in 1983, is Malaysia's largest manufacturer of automobiles, and the only full-fledged OEM car manufacturer in South-East Asia. With operations in key markets from UK to the Middle East, and across South-East Asia and Australasia, especially in countries like China and Iran, PROTON produces cars to suit a range of consumer demands and preferences. (..)

Word-for-word. I should prolly get a podium too.

Okay better not get way ahead of myself. I'm euphoric over the win and i cannot stop fidgeting.
