Man vs Fish Monsters

Being a food fanatic that i am, in another word, food hunter but not eater, this show has never failed to captivate me. Alan Richman is just full of wit and his passion for food truly amazes me and his episodes are always jaw dropping and hypnotizing. Wow, i've never had too many 'and' in one sentence before. Anyways, I have always looked forward to watching this program on TLC (formerly known as Discovery Travel & Living channel). Alan brings you to the world of gastronomic delights you have never seen before in big portions. Long story short, he's just a man with a serious appetite.

In Man v. Food, Adam Richman travels across the United States to explore the culture and unique "big food" of one city in each episode. In some episodes, Richman takes on food challenges involving very hot and spicy foods (such as foods spiced with habanero peppers, and also large quantities of food, such as a 5-sandwich challenge. He finds places in each city to indulge his appetite and visits local landmarks. Richman interacts with local restaurateurs as they demonstrate the making of a house specialty or element of local cuisine. He gives a brief insight to the local community by talking to patrons at the establishments and asking about the most-talked about orders. The show emphasizes quality as well as quantity—a number of the locations in season one are zagat-rated, while others have received honors from Esquire (magazine) as home of "The Best Sandwiches in America". So far, his record is 31-18 in his food challenges. -wiki

Adam holds the Jumboli Challenge, a 5lb, stromboli.

This is serious. And mind-blowin'.
Also, watch out for

BEST FOOD EVER, 7pm
Series premieres on Nov 4 at 10pm

Each episode of Best Food Ever will count down America's top 10 food destinations in a specific category, highlighting what makes them the best and exactly who is behind these delectable dishes, while also hearing from the foodies that help propel these establishments into the rankings.

On TLC. For those with passion for food.

Before that though, while i was fighting my way to feel comfy on my bean bag, my toes accidentally toe-hit on the buttons of 553 on my Astro remote control and it flicked from Fox to National Geographic just in time to watch three American men or so i'd like to think in Spain smiling gleefully at their catch of the day, the biggest Wels Catfish. And there was a replay of the scene where they were struggling and boxing and pulling and falling (full of drama i tell you) and they successfully won over the fat endangered Catfish with it's prominent barbels (whiskerlike tactile organ near the mouth).

'The wels catfish is an adept hunter, first using its pectoral fins to create a disorienting eddy and then taking advantage of its vast, vacuum-like mouth to suck prey in and swallow it whole.'

Besides this, you can opt to watch River Monsters in Discovery Channel or Animal Planet where this man, Jeremy Wade, risks his life to catch wild species of fishes around the globe though mostly in Africa. Usually he'll release them.

He caught even bigger catfishes than the one i watched on screen earlier.

He even tackled and caught piranhas before! Watch how he does it in this clip.

And I can't even catch a fish. Let alone using fishing materials like rod or even nets! At least, I doubt i can. This kid above caught the fish with his own bare hands. D;
